Services

Eye Examinations
A full eye examination every two years is essential for maintaining eye health. The typical examination includes a comprehensive case history, accurate refraction, and an internal check to identify eye conditions. If issues such as cataracts or macular degeneration are detected, I can refer you to an ophthalmologist. As a therapeutically endorsed optometrist, I am also qualified to prescribe medication for infections, dry eyes, and glaucoma.
Children’s Eye Tests
Children should have their eyes tested before starting school and then every two years. More frequent exams may be necessary if there are any concerns. Most three-year-olds can manage a basic eye check-up. I am aligned with the Queensland Children’s Hospital and the QLD Prep Screening Programme, providing specialized care for young patients.
Medicare Billing
Eye examinations are bulk-billed to Medicare, making it easier and more affordable for you to maintain your eye health. This billing practice ensures that you can access essential eye care services without additional out-of-pocket expenses, allowing for regular and timely check-ups.
Glasses
I offer high-quality frames and lenses at competitive prices from local spectacle labs. Whether you need reading glasses or have difficulty seeing road signs at night, I provide various options. I use advanced lenses and coatings to ensure you receive the best possible vision correction. No-gap glasses are available through most private health funds.
Government-Funded Glasses
Government-funded glasses are available through the Spectacle Supply Scheme for qualifying pensioners, Queensland Senior’s Card holders, and health care card holders, at no charge. Veterans with a DVA gold card are also eligible for a range of glasses at no cost, ensuring they receive the necessary vision care.
Home Visits and Safety Glasses
Home visits for housebound patients can be arranged upon request, with a minimum charge of $30, varying by location. For safety glasses, options are available both privately and through contracted businesses, designed to protect your eyes in hazardous environments and ensure your safety during work or other activities.
